The Young Chelsea Bridge Club is a contract bridge club situated in the Earl's Court area of London; although when its lease ends in 2013, it plans to move somewhere less central. It was established in 1968 and has long been one of the focal points for British duplicate bridge. The Club organises games every weekday, and also hosts the London-based French Club and American Club, as well as many regional, national and international events including almost all events run under the auspices of the London Metropolitan Bridge Association. Bridge lessons also often feature in the weekly schedule. In 2004 the Club founder and secretary, Warwick Pitch, retired, leaving as a legacy a club that has been crucial to the development of bridge in England for over three decades. Since that time the Club has been run by an elected committee, and employs a full-time manager, Gordon Rainsford (EBU's second most senior Tournament Director).
The Club also holds heats of many national events, and County events run by the London Metropolitan Bridge Association. The Club is, after all, LMBA's showcase/office, owing to overlap of Club and LMBA committees.
